LIQUID LIPSTICKS
up to down:
saigon (uml)
mama (uml)
tight fit (ugl)
my jam (ugl)
echo park (usl)
dopey (usl)
frick n frack (usl)
echo park
Personally I'm not a huge fan of the way it looks on me. I feel like the color washes me out slightly. The formula is decent. I think my tube is getting a bit old, because it tends to leave cracks during application, which it definitely did not at first. It's been about 8 months since I first purchased. I destashed Frick n Frack after around 7 months because the consistency changed.
dopey
My favorite ultra satin lip that I will definitely miss when I finish it. May repurchase but unlikely. The color is gorgeous and pulls slightly purple on me, which I appreciate, haha.
tight fit
The lighter of my two metallic glossy lips. This is a good lip topper to add to any other color I want to make look sparkly, but I wouldn't wear it on its own because it emphasizes lip lines.
my jam
I actually really like this shade and how it sits on my lips. It's not overly sticky and pigmented (the problem I had with Kylie holiday metallic lip glosses), but provides a decent sheen and is its own color without being overpowering.
LIPPIE STIX
crack me up
This is the matte x lipstick version of Beeper ultra matte lip. I always wanted to try Beeper, but hated the UML formula so I never pulled the trigger. Crack Me Up is a nice washed out grey rose, but the formula likes to flake away slightly on me.
taurus
This is part of a KathleenLights x ColourPop collection, as a matte lipstick. I'm honestly not a huge fan of it, because the formula feels strange and uncomfortably heavy on my lips. It's a warm orange/yellow brown.
goal digger
An absolutely gorgeous color. This is Bumble in a lipstick version, which so many people love. The matte x formula is okay, and I find it to be more longwearing than Crack Me Up. Only one of the lipsticks I would repurchase maybe.
cami
I'm honestly not that big of fan of this color on me either. I feel like it doesn't suit me. Cami is matte, and wears nicely though.
kiddo
Kiddo is of the sheer lipstick formula (don't make me say lip*** sti* again ;;;) I had quite a few of these (Peacocky, Juice Bar, Safari, Tiger), but most ended up being destashed. The reason being: they smelled TERRIBLE. The formula leaves a lot to be desired also. It is moisturizing, but none of them would stay on my lips. The darker/brighter colors were especially bad because of how noticeable they would feather and smudge.
I do not have any pictures of the sole "Lippie pencil" that I had, which was BFF #3. The formula was alright, but extremely crumbly and the pencil part fell out of the plastic packaging. Sharpening it was a nightmare because it would get everywhere. In the end, I just ended up destashing. Apparently the ColourPop and Kylie lip liners are exactly the same formula though, so if you like the Kylie ones and are looking for a cheaper alternative, nab these.
SUPER SHOCK CHEEK (HIGHLIGHT)
monster (sheered out vs heavy)
wisp (sheered out vs heavy)
I would most likely not repurchase these highlights. I love the duochrome goodness of Monster, but I find that the cream ColourPop highlighters just don't stay well on my skin. Wisp is a bit too dark for my skin tone, but works well sheered out as a more subtle highlight. I find myself using Monster often as an eyeshadow/shadow topper because it makes everything look. so. damn. good.
SUPER SHOCK SHADOW
top to bottom
bae, moonwalk, koosh, sailor
Other SSS I have owned include: puppy love, nillionaire, and stereo. I don't think I would repurchase any of these, honestly. Bae has taken upon a wet texture that is strange even though the color is beautiful. I love the duochrome shift that Moonwalk has, but it isn't extremely unique. Koosh is very silver and a great inner corner highlight, but is too intense for most days (and also was holiday limited edition). Sailor is gorgeous, and there are green subtle shifts that the camera didn't catch up. It's the only one I can possibly see myself picking up in the future perhaps.
BROW PENCIL:
I forgot a picture but I honestly don't think it's that necessary?
stock photo from website.
I have the shade Black N' Brown. It is good for filling in areas that are sparse/void of hair (tweezing incident), but not at all for the entire brow. It is way too pigmented for my liking, giving me strong instagram brows without even going for them. I will stick to my glossier boy brow for now.
CREME GEL LINER
top to bottom, kicker, dirty talk, get paid, overboard
These liners (besides overboard) are my HG waterline eyeliners! I can't believe how well these stay on, honestly. I can take a shower and these will still be on! Overboard is alright, but not my favorite. Kicker, Dirty Talk, and Get Paid are so sosoosos gorgeous on waterline and lower lash line. I find that they don't work well on my eyelid because I have so much skin there that the pencil creases and pulls for a not so flattering look unfortunately. If I had to choose one thing from ColourPop, it would definitely be these liners.
Cons: extremely breakable! These will break off from inside the tube (which is twist up thank the Lord), but I just shoved it back in and continue to use as is. It works fine for me honestly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
NOT TRIED:
- Super Shock Cheek (Blush, Bronzer)
Sculpting Stix (discontinued)
- Creme Gel Colour
- Pressed Pigment
- Pressed Shadow
- Brow Pot
- Ultra Metallic Lip
- Pressed Blush
- Pressed Bronzer
- Pressed Highlighter
- Blotted Lip
- Ultra Blotted Lip
I honestly don't see myself likely trying these products in the future. I have way too much eyeshadow to count though I would love to try their new powder eyeshadows in Paper Tiger, Stay Golden, and 143. I've got lip products to last me till I'm 30, and I am surprisingly not tempted by any of their new releases. I am however, interested in Sticky Sweet (a beautiful purple) and Itty Bitty (a satin soft salmon pink super shock shadow that is only available in a set that I don't care about).
Now onto the whole... ColourPop shady business. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a ColourPop swatch online, must be filtered and be extremely inaccurate. Besides that there were some shade name controversies (unfavorable naming for the darker shades such as "Typo"). My main ???? and overall hesitance with possibly buying from ColourPop in the future is below.
Basically, ColourPop photoshopped a woman's arm to look darker for these swatches.
For one, the palm is very dark and unlike most black people's hands. If they were not in the wrong, ColourPop should've clarified, but they merely deleted the post.
Zooming into the sides of the darkest arm shows some shoddy photoshopping job (very jagged color). Additionally it doesn't make sense that the colors are most muted. The lightest colors of the lip products should be the brightest and most contrasted against the darkest skin.
The funny thing is that ColourPop often does live swatches on people of many different skintones. Was there really any need to do this? Nope.
I'm not saying that everyone should boycott them for all eternity. Just keep an open mind and be aware of their mistakes. I know they make budget friendly trendy products.
However, their sizes are much smaller than mid-end brands such as MAC. Their lipsticks would, cost you just as much per ounce, if not more. I am aware though, that most people never finish their lipsticks. ColourPop is a cheap and easy way to try out new colors/trends. Just thought that that is a valid observation. Anyways, if you are interested in purchasing from them, they currently have a 20% off their entire website sale! (Same as their Black Friday discount).
