WOWBOX! 10% off code: S-XMGKXI4Q

Halloooooooooo!!! I feel like I say the same thing every time I write a new post, so I'm going to try and spruce it up a little bit! How is everyone? I'm a second semester high school senior and drastically loosing motivation..... Honestly.... I think I've had senioritis since the eighth grade;; The 10% off code expires March 31, so you all should hurry up and order a Wow Box today ^_____^

Anyway, so I went on a shopping spree early in January to try and improve my mood, before midterms haha. I'm here with a new review for WOWBOX, a Japanese snack subscription box !

Is anyone watching the Oscars right now? I didn't actually realize they were tonight LOL my film teacher would be offended. Will Leo finally get his first Oscar? Judging from Leo's Red Carpet Rampage... well...

"WOWBOX is the coolest Japanese candy subscription service produced by the one and only Japanese sweets & snacks media company mogmog. We are the only Japanese candy subscription service offering multiple themed boxes to choose from. Sounds exciting right? Each month you get to choose which themed box you’d like to receive for the month. We’ll also be adding new themes occasionally so be on the look out for what’s next to come. We provide the boxes in 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large." -- copied and pasted from their website~

Wow Box is slightly different from other subscription boxes in having three different themed boxes you can choose from.

Since most of the Japanese snack subscription boxes I've gotten have been more on the wacky "Original Fun & Tasty" side, I chose the Classic themed box! Classics are classics for a reason, and sometimes it's nice to know that you'll like most of what you're getting. I received this box free of charge for reviewing purposes, but I guarantee that it will be 100% honest u_u

Here's an overall look at the different sized boxes and what they offer. The main thing that differs between the boxes is the # of items offered :^)

The Box!!!!

Product descriptions and nutritional information.

The Wow Box was carefully packaged with bubble wrap~

Now onto the inside contents :D

11 items in total, and 3 pocky as promised~

Pocky (Matcha Mix)

Usually I love green tea flavored anything, but I'm not a huge fan of this matcha pocky. Most of my friends weren't either >< Still ate all of it though, haha.

Tsubu Tsubu Strawberry Milk Candy

Standard sweet milk candy that melted in your mouth. The texture was kind weird once it started dissolving into my saliva, but I still liked it!

Kinoko No Yama

Surprisingly enough, I've actually never had these before! They were tasty chocolate treats shaped like mushrooms. I've seem them around a lot in stores and also watched some youtube videos of them making a DIY version of this, but never tried them for some reason... big mistake that is now fixed.

Mochi Taro (Salt)
Small and crunchy salty snack! It was crispy and tasted like something fried... I like how there were 3 salty snacks - nice balance between sweet and salty!

Karl (Curry)

I liked these curly puffs! You could either crunch them with your teeth or let them melt on your tongue. I'm usually not a huge fan of curry, but I'm learning to like it more, and these puffs help ^___^ They aren't spicy in the slightest though, which I was expecting.

Pocky midi (Chubby chocolate)

Just like normal pocky, but cute and chubby!!! My friend loved these LOL she refused to eat any regular chocolate pocky after this.

Fusen No Mi (Green Apple)

One of my favorites in this box! There were three different flavors: green apple, sour apple, and yogurt! I liked green apple and sour apple best. The packaging was super nice - it was kind of like those fancy pencil lead containers! You pull a "lever of sorts" down, and then it exposes a hole for you to just drop the candy in your mouth LOL. I ate these all in one afternoon....

Pie No Mi

The info card recommended that I microwave it for about 50 seconds. I ate a few before microwaving, and it was decently tasty, as a crumbly chocolate filled pie. But after microwaving... omg... it was delicious...  I burnt my tongue eating them while they were too hot LOL.

Kaki No Tane

Mix of rice crackers and peanuts ^__^ nice salty snack. The info card said it would pair well with drinks but LMAO #ain't about that life

Fujiya Lemon Squash (special item)

Sugary drinks are a great way to get cavities ^___^ I actually never got cavities until I started wearing braces..... otl. Anyways, I've had lemon squash candies that are almost identical to the flavor of this soda. I wasn't expecting it to be fizzy because usually sub boxes don't send fizzy drinks in case of explosions LOL. I'm usually not a huge fan of carbonation, but this Lemon Squash had just enough bubbles that it didn't make me uncomfortable. Honestly I will never understand people who can drink seltzer water... I like the taste lots though!

Chocolate Pocky

I mean... this was very classic.... but I'm unfortunately a strawberry pocky person.... It was still yummy, but I expected something more than two chocolate pocky in the same box;; (Also my friend wouldn't eat them because she preferred the "fat pocky")

Overall I really did like this "Classic Wowbox!" Although honestly I could probably get 3-5 items from Hmart or Asian Food Markets, it was nice to have a curated selection sent directly to me. I hadn't ever seen ~7/13 items in this box, and it was a great experience trying all of these classic snacks! I would just prefer a little bit more variety, but people who are fans of choco pocky should be satisfied (aka like 90% of all the white people I know, and 10% of all the Asian people I know).

Thank you at the Wowbox team for sending me this box, and I hope all of you are motivated to try this out :) Don't forget to use S-XMGKXI4Q at the checkout for 10% off - it expires March 31!!
